Amos Smith Awarded 2014 Nichols Medal

Amos B. Smith III has been selected to receive the 2014 William H. Nichols Medal by the New York Section of the American Chemical Society. This distinguished award, established in 1902 by Dr. William H. Nichols, for the purpose of encouraging original research in chemistry, is the first award authorized by the American Chemical Society.

Marisa Kozlowski named ACS Fellow

Leslie Shinn wins poetry book prize

Daniel J. Mindiola Joins the Chemistry Department

Daniel J. Mindiola has been named the fourth Presidential Term Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, effective Aug. 1. Mindiola will be Presidential Term Professor of Chemistry in the School of Arts and Sciences.

The announcement was made today by Penn President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price.

This lecture series has been instituted as a way to both honor some of the most distinguished leaders in their fields of chemistry and to celebrate Alan’s incomparable legacy at Penn.
